if you know about that problem you can use the tool accordingly and not screw it up.
What tool? The 'arbitrarily move seemingly perfectly snapped automation breakpoints by ear until it sounds acceptable' tool?

Yeah, I'm overly familiar with that bastard.
you don't understand the problem at hand.

yes, it's a broken feature but that doesn't mean you have to lay on the ground and cry about it. yes I have a set I've worked on for a while that lost its shine, I will go back and redo the automation or revert to an older rev that sounds better.

it's up to you, good luck.

Have you used other DAWS much, Tone Deft?

I have, and I can tell you: no other DAW demands your apologist approach to music making.

There is no excuse for automation on a return that is audibly different (usually by eat least 1/32 of a bar!) from where the DAW visually says it should be. It needs to be sorted.

Or do you think this to be too much to ask from a several hundred quid DAW?

that's life pal, you can whine about problems or you can face them and move around them.

of course it should be fixed, I'm not talking about that.

Is it? Are facing problems really the same as working around them?

Working around them sounds awfully like 'bowing to them' to me.

Are you the bowing type, Tone Deft?

I'm all ears for your automation workaround, by the way. I'm guessing it's along the lines of - "Use another DAW?".

Which I already knew.

Syncing to Reaper is swell..
but I've stopped trying to use Live+anything..
live is stressed out on cpu as is.. adding reaper to the mix adds around 10%-15% on my machine
so exporting/importing audio if I really need Reaper..

I already addressed this. I wrote that an old project seems to suffer from this, I'll go back to an older revision or redo the automation.

you might need to read that twice, I wrote that an old project seems to suffer from this, I'll go back to an older revision or redo the automation.

your anger is making you dense and your condescending attitude makes you look like an asshole. see how it all fall apart when you lie on the ground crying about life's problems? pick yourself up and move on. it's an imperfect world. as Bruce Lee said;

“Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves."

we can all say that Ableton are aware of this problem. they're also users of the software and would like to see this fixed. it might already be fixed in Live 9.

I think there's a few topics being beat to death and they're being boiled down to finer and finer points, getting hotter and hotter. the automation bug and Live 9 vs. Bitwig have been beat to death, sides are divided, talking points getting refined, people are getting tired of it. at least the 64 bit rants are done. someday we'll have Live 9 and Bitwig and the automation bug will be fixed, where will we be then?
