Tempo Change on Drum Rack

Post by hollandaze » Sat Jul 14, 2012 9:39 am

Ok, so I drag an mp3 from itunes into a track and the entire song warps automagically to the bpm of the live session. Then I clip out a snippet and drag it to an empty drum rack and it reverts to it's native (in this case faster) bpm. How do I get the snippet to retain the slower bpm of the session itself once it's on a drum rack pad?

consolidate the snippet before you drag it. cmd/ctrl+j

also don't get in the habit of working with mp3s. Live cannot handle them natively, so it just creates all these duplicate wavs that it stores somwhere. you probably have a few gig you can clear out of your cache in the pref pane.

if all you have is mp3s, not much you can do but just something to be aware of.

Great, thanks. I don't use a lot of mp3s - I"m mostly turntable based - but I'll remember that. Thanks.
