thanks very much ive been useing the bottom left icon HOT SWAP BROWSER to pick and drag sounds into impulse whenever i try the same with LIVE DEVICE BROWSER i am unable to listen to the sound by clicking the mouse,i hope that makes sense.Do i need to enter a certain instrument example impulse but a different one for bass lines and melodys and then drag sounds into it again, and ive noticed different arranger views on youtube which im confused how to access i do like the scroll left to right view placing pieces in when the line reaches they play im stuck on the vertical collum view.im from liverpool by the way good to speak to ya mate

Hello everyone,

My name is Mikkel, I just got Ableton Live 8 a few weeks ago in hopes to make music as a hobby. I love music, I'm really into Rap and Electronic Techno (Like Avicii). I could really use someone to really teach me how to work this complex Software, message me if you'd like to help me out!
Thanks,
-Mikkel

funken u have helped me alot so far sorry for no reply ive been mad busy with work but i would love to do this music for a job instead haha.Ive been looking into music creation software alot lately and now i know what DAW means i read it in your first reply and was confused (Digital audio workstation).I also found a great DAW comparison video on youtube for all the noobs like me.type in (Recording and Production DAW Software Comparison) if only i could have a haircut like him on the video.I found it interesting when talking about logic pro, ableton live, pro tools, especially when logic is only available on apple mac ,i didnt know that.im learning about midi and audio and simplers and impulse.on the session vertical main view i know i can duplicate a collum or copy a line in a collum but i dont know how to turn single sound down in volume if i have a drum beat with cymbals on impulse and only want cymbal volume down but not the kickdrum do i have to creat a whole new vertical impulse and do the cymbal seperate to lower volume its doin my head in i thought i might be able to single out volumes of sounds within a sequence without affecting everything.thanks mate

funken i apreciate your great help once again and you answered my questions and now im starting to get to grips with ableton live slowly but surely and creating some great sounds you were right its starting to get easier i suppose when u know the basics all the pieces of the jigsaw come together and learning the daw becomes quicker ive had the essential instruments collection 2 and only just installed it to libary and now ableton has slowed down considerably were that it suddenly takes 15seconds longer to do anything from moving notes to picking instruments things are freezing for abit.mabey i need to uninstall some stuff on ableton i dont know but thanks mate.ile keep in touch on this because ile get some tunes out to you when i get to grips and see what you think.I know u can judge them because ive heard your tunes nice style .
