Balls to it! I'm gonna install and see what happens. If it breaks it I'm gonna work on some acoustic guitar stuff!
Live relevant things: Suite 12, MacBook M1 Max, RME UFX II (kext drivers), Push 1

If you wish to try out ML, but don't want to chance it by messing up your system you could always clone your system to an external hard drive with Carbon Copy Cloner (http://www.bombich.com/). Then upgrade this 'cloned' drive to ML and see how it works.
Then if you don't like something you can always revert back to your previous System. or if you like it, then clone the 'cloned' drive to your Mac internal drive.

I am way to nervous to even buy this yet before knowing if it will all work with it. Mountain Lion, doesn't offer a lot to me, Idc about messages or whatever else really. I use mine mainly for music work, so it's not worth it to me just yet. Plus my live is older than 8.3.1

I'm with Beats. I don't see any new features that make it worth the install. I typically don't use the Apple tools like Calendar or Message or Mail, so this update seems a bit senseless to me. I suppose it would be different if I did use all of Apple's built-in apps, but my use is centered much more around Google Apps and music software. Also, I'm not a Safari user, so again, this update does very little for me. Unless there are CPU gains to be had, I can't imagine this being worthwhile yet. I'll make the move when fanboyMike makes his move.

People say it's snappier. That's worth $20.

Theres no way in HELL i'm installing this shit yet!! It's too much, too soon. I'm totally happy w/ my OS right now and god only knows how fucked up all my VST's and other software will be. Like, I'm literally just getting comfortable w/ Lion. My audio interface was just recently patched to work on Lion and they go and release this shit!!! Chill out Apple. I just (as in 3 months ago.) Dropped $2000 on a new MAcbook Pro. I'm going to ignore Apple for awhile because I swear if they come out w/ some new, paper thin, SSD, MAcbook Pro I'm gonna be so mad!! I see that so far the only upgrade has been Retina Display which I really don't give a shit about. OK. Sorry for that outburst.
Long Live Apple!!!

Good to see you here neb!
I think the bulk of Apple’s OS updates are mostly great for former PC tweakers who love to deep dive their system, people who use Macs for their job, and people who are ultra social. A lot of features sound awesome but I quickly forget what they are because I wouldn’t use them. Awesome for other people.

^ I bought my mac in August of 2011, and it came preloaded with Lion. So right off the bat, I was unable to use several of my go-to synths that REQUIRED rosetta to install, and that ended with Snow Leopard. So I've taken a much more conservative approach to installing the latest/greatest OS, especially since my MBP is the center of my business and music world, and I can't afford any issues with it or any downtime. Everything works. No need to tinker...my PC tinkering days are long gone.

Yeah, I understand updating an application that hopefully fixes some bugs you had. I don’t understand upgrading an OS that will most likely have bugs you didn’t have.
