Routing Drum racks pads to individual outputs is it possible
Still learning my way around Live and I started playing with drum racks and I really like it but one thing I have not been able to figure out how to do is how to route individual pads to their own audio tracks/outputs. I read the manual and checked Youtube and have not found what I am looking for. Is it possible?

Try this:
1. Session view, load a drum rack into a midi track.
2. Make sure all I/O settings are visible (view > In/Out...make sure this is checked)
3. Create a new audio track, set the "monitor" from "auto" to "In"
4. In the "audio from" pull down list (input type) select the track that you loaded the drum rack into in step 1 above
5. In the pull down below that (input channel) select the drum rack channel that you want to route through this track (post FX is the typical tap point that you'll select here...Kit 808 | Kick 808 | Post FX for example)
Note that you'll want to deactivate the track activator (entire midi track) or chain activator (single sample) so that you don't have the audio routing through both channels.
Lemme know if this does not make sense.

Hi, thank you for this. It was very clear.
Can you please specify how to deactivate the track in order to not have the sample come out of both channels?

Re: Routing Drum racks pads to individual outputs is it possible
I'm looking to do this same thing except I need it to work in a live setting and be controlled in Push.
For example: if I route the Toms to an audio track in order to process a delay on them, I have to switch from the drum rack to the audio track in order to bring in the delay. This means I can no longer play the drum rack on the Push. Any suggestions?

It's easy. Each pad of the drum rack has a send. Just make sure you click on the show chain list of the drum rack at the left. Make sure I-O is clicked and S and R is clicked on in the drum rack at the left. Now you can set up custom returns for the rack or use the returns you have set up for the project and each pad can be set up with its own send.

You can either use internal returns inside the drum rack itself. Now, I think you would need to get PXT Live (for Push 1 only at the moment) in order to get full control of the sends inside the drum rack from Push. I'm not sure if Push 2 offer better control over these.bradfromraleigh wrote:I'm looking to do this same thing except I need it to work in a live setting and be controlled in Push.

One alternative would be use a Max For Live device like Sixteen Macros to control the sends on the other audio channels that takes the audio from your rack. This way you don't need to leave the track that you want to control with Push.
Personally, I have extracted all chains/pads to their own tracks that listens back to the specific pads coming from the drum rack where I've made new empty pads that plays the same note number. To this I add the Sixteen Macros device and configured that to control parts in the new tracks. The main reason for doing this is to be able to freeze individual pads/chains, so this is not for everyone.
