i think 7 1/2 mins is the time it'll take to do it's most wonderful landing. Mars is 14 minutes for radio signals, so that long to know.

High-stakes big-balls engineering at it's most extreme risk or payoff. The exploration ramifications are clear enough. F'ing awesome stuff.

Absolutely. The hi rez stuff should be showing itself in a few days i've read. Video too, for a first.

Here's the only piece of actual landing footage so far. It appears to be just after the heat-shield was ejected till touch down. Fast event to say the least.

It has 17 cameras. They'll open them up one at a time nice and slow like. The black n white low rez photos are just monitors for the wheels. They're not official pics. There will also be 3d vid. Should be pretty convincing stuff
