I’m not a youtube power user but I’ve switched to using youtube on safari instead of the app. It doesn’t seem any better or worse to me than the app in layout but I’m not getting the usual long buffering times I get with the app.
This whole lack of advertising is horse shit for the end user. The facebook app is having the same issues from advertisers and shareholders. Holy fuck people get to access a site without any advertisements being thrown at them. I have no sympathy for anybody who feels that is an issue.
Ironically I see the commercials and advertisements on youtube as a big annoyance (who doesn’t?), but a lot of what I look at on youtube is demos before I buy something.
Re: iPad
Occasionally at work I have to do some billing based on number of days and it gets quite annoying calculating by putting my finger on a calendar and counting as I move across. Old fucking school. So just out of curiosity I checked if there is an app for that. And there is! A free app where you dial in the beginning date and then the ending date and it tells you how many days that is.

So Microsoft actually played nice with Apple's iOS patents.

Samsung on the other hand
It’s nice to see the old foes working together to crush Android.

Listen, as far was working together to crush Android.... Well, if you're talking about Microsoft getting Apple the occasional cup of coffee and energy bar whilst the battle rages on, then yeah....I guess that's called working together.

But I think after Windows pretty much ripped off Mac OS without circumstance it’s finally Microsoft tipping its hat to Apple on design in both hardware and software and I don’t think it’s out of fear of getting dragged into court. It’s out of respect. It kind of brings a tear to my eye. Sorta.

Foxnews needs to fire the bot they hired to categorize their articles.

That’s a tech article which is about an actual mountain lion, not the OS.

Re: iPad
The more I think about it the more it makes sense for Apple to make a cable ready setup box with apps instead of a whole damn TV. Imagine rolling your 55” television to a genius visit at the Apple Store.
And although I haven’t really seen any discussion on it, I wouldn’t think we’re too far off from just getting every damn thing through wifi, Internet and TV, from a box in your home. The cable would still run to your home but within your home it would be all about a wifi box. The signals already originate from the same cable already.

Apple, Google, and Samsung have all teamed up together to collectively bid on Kodak patents. FFS. Isn’t anybody running up and down the departmental halls yelling “Do you guys even talk to each other?!?”
