Actually, I'm a long time Windows user. But I don't really mind the Mac OS fake 3D windows with shadows and transparency.

It is easy on the eyes and perhaps (?!) it even aids desktop navigation.

Even if the screen is 2D you can pick up visual cues from fake 3D. Not saying that that is the case with Longhorn or Mac OS, but I wouldn't dismiss the technique outright.

true, tiger is sweet. My understanding is that skinning can hurt performance...?
