Confused about upgrade to Ableton 8 ?

Hi Team,

I have Ableton LITE 8 in computer and I just bought Ableton 7 from ebay.
I'm planning to upgrade it to version 8.
What should I actually to do to successful install it in my computer ?
Should I uninstall the lite version and install version 7 and then upgrade or just install version 7 on the top of lite version?

Once I get the license for version 7 what should I do to upgrade to version 8 ?
I know sound really noob but I have not choice to ask you guys.

I would collect all and save your projects, uninstall 8 Lite and then install 7. Some stuff may not be compatible though...

Live works so that multiple versions can exist on the same drive, so it doesn't matter what you have on your drive when you upgrade because the download link is going to give you the newest version of Live 8 anyway. The new version doesn't replace or alter the old version in any way. Once you've got the new version installed and have made sure everything is running fine on your setup, then you can trash the old version.

Do I need to install Ableton 7 to autorize it ?

Can I just add the serial number ( Ableton 7 ) as a new product at Ableton website and then upgrade to version 8 without install version 7 ?
If so, once autorization is done I just upgrade version LITE 8 to FULL Live 8 and then use the the NEW serial number given by the website to autorize it.

That make sense ?
