Interesting Percc Sample CD

Post by rikhyray » Fri Jul 08, 2005 2:42 pm

Found it accidently, wanted to check an Ebay offer (30 Euro at the moment) and found that original Latin Perc 24 Platinum 2 Akai + CD 1 audio for 9.95 Euro !!! Whatever it might be for the money must be worth , couldnt believe it is real. I suppose they concentrate on theier expensive software so wizoo sells the rests http://www.wizoo-shop.com/

Just got it, checked it it is excellent, I was so sceptical suspecting some "funny thin version" "best service" ripp off style. No it is 1 audio, 2 Akai CDs 24 bit , stunning sounds. Next I grabbed the envelope to check the bill if it wasnt some trick but NO! no 112 Euro or something I paid just 12,49 including shippment. The best buy ever.
I remember some people looking for perc samples here, this set is worth at least 50-100, so better check their online shop.

It looks like they recorded 24 but the samples are in 16, didnt have time to check it all but they sound good anyway, dynamics by live playing is good enough for me, after all the percussion is almost always buried in the background somehow. I have my Impulse perc sets but it is too flat, good enough for the one velocity samples but nothing like real dynamic perc, I made some nice sets from the 2 Akai CDs. Now need better controller.

Just received mine.

Is there a free/shareware utility that will let me read and convert Akai S1000 discs on my Mac?

Cheers!
