for example: in michigan certain traffic tickets can get you another ticket called a " drivers responsabilty fee" wich is nothing more than a redundant ticket. you are already being ticketed for being "irresponsible"
is it possible for enough people to get together and sue the government for creating a frivolous fine?

another example: the government has passed laws for electric company's to be able to create monopoly's, charge you double for services used during peak time, and create charges that are often confusing or bogus.

when i lived in Colorado i got a ticket for speeding. when i got to court i was in a room full of other folks that had similar tickets. they gave us two choices:
1. go to court and see what happens
2. take a deal

the deals all changed your moving violation to either
A. illegal window tint
B. broken headlight

so basically it's okay to lie and create fictitious statements and records as long as it is the municipality that is doing all the bookkeeping.

What’s more upsetting is the staggering amount of people who plead guilty to a lesser charge on a crime they didn’t commit because being found guilty of the full charge in court would mean a much higher penalty. It may and even has come out later that the person didn’t commit the crime but the DA and even the victim can fall back on “Well, they plead guilty (to a lesser charge)” and that is that.

about 4 years ago i did have to pay a "driver responsibility" fine. what really pissed me of about this ticket was after you paid the fine, the next year at the same time you would be fined again even though you paid all the tickets and the original fine.

i dont think you guys did. let me say it again after you paid all fines off, the next year at the same time of the original fine you would be fined once more.. lets that up 1 ticket for the irresponsible behavior, 1 fine for getting a ticket and 1 more fine the following year THREE FUCKING FINES FOR ONE TICKET!

ahh this gimmick i remember pleading guilty to one of these old fashion round em up and fine em sessions. i think i was about 19 then.

Your chances of winning are pretty slim, but it's nonetheless possible.

More than likely your local legislature fit those things into some laws or ordinances. Could be somebody you voted for. Or, more than likely, someone you didn't vote against Either way, you 've got a ticket to fight 'and' the crappy law to fight, so for that you'll need a lot of signatures and a persistant lawyer to get heard. At that point you'll be fighting one of the cities best revenue $treams. Go get em.

There are really irresponsible members of the legislative that wouldn't analyze existing laws and just pass new ones as a hobby, which in turn will be taken advantage of the executive branch. I think this is the a ploy of both parties to drain its people of money. Well you can't just sue them, you should be able to make a counter. Like a law that would neutralize these annoying ones.

Yep. And just have a look at the MMJ laws and ordinances all over California. Feds, State, city, county and districts all have different rules of engagement on the issue. Lots of action and changes to law every day. S'all Goodman is the winner in all this.

Just about all of the US legislators at the state and federal levels don't even read what they're voting on. On top of that, there are private organizations like ALEC that write the legislation for them.

Also, keep in mind that the US penal system is slowly being privatized. We're talking for-profit jails here. And to increase their profits, they'll start corrupting the judicial system even more.

You think it's bad now. In the near future, you'll feel sorry for the people that not only pay fines, but also spend 3-6 months in a county or state prison just for a traffic ticket. It's money in the bank for the local/state governments and the for-profit jails.
