Need a second opinion on these vocals

Post by LegendaryXM90 » Fri Aug 31, 2012 6:21 am

So my friend and I recorded our singer with two different microphones and we're at a crossroads as to which version we want to use for the final track. Our argument is about the feel of mic 1 vs the quality of mic 2, and which is more worth sacrificing for.

So we need to hear what other people think before we release the "wrong" version and it ends up not doing as well as the other would have.

Here are the two versions:

MICROPHONE 1:

MICROPHONE 2:

This is the last track we need done before we release our first EP, so a quick response would be awesome guys! Thanks a lot! :D

I'd say the first one has got more clarity and you could EQ it a little bit warmer to get a similar sound to what the second one sounds like. I can recommend analog effects to create a vintage sound and a warmer sound. It has got a special feel to it!
