Grouping in Arrangement

Post by RSteel » Thu Aug 30, 2012 7:23 pm

Mabey this has already been answered but ive searched and could not find an exact answer so....

Ive created a layered sound in arrangement view consisting of a midi and several audio tracks. Ive selected and grouped them together. According to the manual and others, that group should now show up in session view and be a playable clip. Yes?

Yes, it does show in session view but there is only a stop buttons and no play button. As a matter of fact the group doesnt even show a colored barber pole pattern. I think i might be doing something wrong.

Okay, I guess my real question is can you group tracks in arrangement then play them in session view?

So far I can group tracks in session view and play them but apparently not in arrangement

Thanks in advance for any help

Ray

I think your problem is that you need to actually place those midi/audio clips into session view. So open the group, place each sample side by side, close the group and there's your barber shop clip.

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I figured so. I was hoping that the layered sound could be played in session view, but after experimenting alot and trying different things, session view at this time cannot play the samples because it doesnt recognize where in "time" they sit compared to each other. If i try and lay it out in session view all samples get played at the same time, not when they should.

I'll just have to bounce the tracks down into a single audio file then put it in the session. :)

Thanks,

Ray
