I have no idea. I come from a pretty tiny town. Even if I knew, they'd be so insignificant that I wouldn't bother listing them.

Pinnicle of music right there. Also XTC, Justin Hayward from The Moody Blues, Rick Davies from Supertramp, Meat Beat Manifesto, Gilbert O'Sullivan and various others in lesser known London bands.

Yeah if you're from London it's almost like you're cheating!

A lot of "London" bands are from the burbs.
A bit like New Order and The Roses. From outside Manchester.

This and Donald Glaude and DJ Dan!Machinesworking wrote:Queensryche had a minor hit or two in 88-89, they're from Bellevue, not Seattle. Same with Nirvana, they're originally from Aberdeen.beats me wrote: Tarekith,
List some shit, bro. And if Queensrÿche isn't on the list I will be highly disappointed. They were tail end of wrong time/wrong place.
Jimi Hendrix, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Heart, and Sir Mix a Lot are all Seattle bands that had huge success. Naming the bands from here that had a little success or made a decent career of it would take days.
Re: What has your hometown unleashed musically?
Is saying a band is from London a bit like saying they are from LA which in many cases they aren't, they just moved the band there because that's where the labels and exposure is? Although I'm sure some bands formed there with the migration of musicians in general with or without a band. I dunno, but I think the numbers are a bit skewed, maybe if you removed the musicians that weren't born and bred in those cities. There's a lot of major cities that just attract musicians.
Re: What has your hometown unleashed musically?
No one has named any London bands though? Its an odd one though. I do remember one time complaints were made to BBCR Oxford after playing a local band that regarded themselves as an Oxford, but 2 of the 5 members were from Swindon. But then people from Oxford are idiots.
