Live 8 and Saffire 6 usb - low output level

I'm using Live 8 along with a Saffire 6 usb interface on my iMac. To get decent levels, I need to turn the Saffire volume knob on the actual unit to 10, and the track faders in Live to full also. MP3s, audio cds, youtube videos etc play fine at normal levels. This seems to be confined to Live. I've looked into mix control for the Saffire but it doesn't seem like it's available for the USB model.

Is there something I'm missing as far as a master volume or something? I've got the master fade in Live set at 0db.

Have you looked at your monitors? There's usually a volume knob on there, but if this problem only exist in Ableton I guess it's not the problem. Try look at the settings of your Asio4All driver (if you use it) or go into the sound settings and look in the sound unit of your soundcard.
