DJing and Preparing a live set with Ableton

Post by Stratos » Thu Sep 06, 2012 2:28 am

Hey guys, so i havent had any problems with Ableton lately, been a free-flowing music montage for about a year now :D And now i've finally hit a bump in the road...

So i DJ using the launchpad in Session mode (the session mode is sort of a "given") and i really enjoy the Repeat feature in the Launch menu of the waveform area thing, and i like using effects such as Beat Repeat and Effectrix that i want synchronized with the tempo of the song. So to achieve the sounds that i want, i've been going pretty in depth with the Warp feature and i love it! But launching a track in my Audio Track 1, (usually the first track i drop onto the project) sets the Global Tempo to match the warped tempo. When i go to switch to another track (at a different tempo, usually within 10 BPM of the last track) the track either slows down or speeds up to match the global tempo! I cant seem to find a way around this other than turning warp off :( any suggestions? Im sure the solution is just some simple solution that im completely looking over.

Thanks!

If they at warped, everything in Live is synced to th global tempo, that's its strong point.

So how would i do the repeat effect with an individual track without a set tempo?
