I'm using Live 7 on a MBP with OSX with no problems up to now recently
I changed the vst folder in the setup. Still made music for a few hours with no problems.
I closed Live and when I opened it again (with a default track with vst's on) he said he couldn't locate my vst's anymore. All folders were reset and closed. In Setup I located the folder again as before.
But every time I close Ableton, he resets it all to zero and can't find the vst folders.
Some research made me clear I had to try deleting the preferences folder.
Well I can't find that anywhere. I used the path for Mac OS X: /User/Library/Preferences/Ableton
but there is no "Ableton" folder in my "Preferences" folder. Even using the Spotlight gets me no return on finding this file.
So I'm stuck! And I can't understand why I don't have this preferences file?! Or is there something else I can do? Something I understand wrong? Please let me know because I'm going crazy without my Ableton
Thanks
Vince
preferences.cfg disappeared on mac
Re: preferences.cfg disappeared on mac
In the folder named Ableton Project Info i found these files:
AbletonLibrary.ini
Cache.cfg
Packages.cfg
Project.cfg
UpgradeLog.txt
no preferences.cfg anywhere
I was wondering if I could use the Time Machine backup to get things fixed?
What do you think?

Re: preferences.cfg disappeared on mac
Have you had any luck finding the file OP?? Going through the same predicament right now. No "Ableton" folder in the preferences. Even searched for it, and pulled up no results. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
