I have an audiophile and oxygen 8.

Never had problems.

no 64 bit driver for oxygen 8 is annoying though.

Yeah, hated m-audio to the point I swore never to buy a product from them again. Thats how infuriating the "customer support" is/was. (It was 1 year to 2 years ago I had the most problems, so maybe things have improved).

Fasttrack pro had weird dropouts, clicks and pops which they never fixed. Sold it. Drove me insane trying to get a "magic order" for connecting and installing a driver that should just work.

Axiom 49 v1 - drop connection randomly with usb power. I liked the keyboard action though.. knobs and sliders werent nice at all.

Profire 2626 - Absolute disaster. They had basically stopped supporting drivers for any new operating system - were using drivers not suitable for the current operating systems - i.e. advertising it worked on snow leopard, then saying they didnt officially support it. At the time - with drivers I think they were a 1 year 1/2 behind updating the drivers for windows 7 and osx 10.6. Constant connection problems, driver issues, power cycles to fix. It had such amazing reviews on the net - and Im sure it sounded good - but the reviews were all done on release. All support was pretty much ignored. Alot of their interfaces were rendered useless due to bad support.

A large problem after months of trying to get answers/updates - at the time It was disclosed that their forums arent run by the company technically. Theyre considered "user forums". Users ask questions, mods answer, but the mods I think are part time and users themselves. They eventually (after 10months of constant complaints by everyone who owned a profire - huge threads dedicated to badmouthing the company on their own forums) addressed the issue and assigned somebody to work on it, but by then it was too late and I could never rely on them again.

So from my point of view - they make good hardware for the price. But outdated drivers with terrible support. And if youve an issue youre pretty much on your own. They will always be months behind supporting any new software update.

I think focusrite now has alot of gear in the m-audio price range, and their support by contrast has been the best Ive experienced.

m-audio is the biggest waste of all time

bought the Firewire 410 - epic fail (dead after 12 months)
axiom 29 - epic fail (dead after a year)

will never buy something from those guys again
and will never stop others buying stuff from them

My Firewire 410 is a piece of crap! After 2 months of use one of the green leds is lightning up all the time on channel 3? But one of the biggest problems is their drivers! They sucks just soo BIG! The soundcard crashes most times when i want to use it and i have to pull the firewire cable out before it works!? i will never buy a product from this FUCK YOU M-AUDIO company! and my m-audio keystation 49 is also a piece of crap! Now one of the black keys doesent work anymore!

Thanks for the wasted times and non support for your own customours.......
My friend has the same FireWire 410 and it works flawless for him and I bought the 610 and that works excellent too.
Both share the same driver, so I think they are basically the same, and 610 is just cosmetic upgrade.

Your problems can be with your FireWire-chipset on your Motherboard, if you have one.
Many people don't have one and buy a FireWire-2-PCI adapter, and those things are terrible, most of the time.
Best is a integrated FireWre-Chipset and if possible from Texas Instruments !!!
No! I'll never use the Push-App Live 9 !!!

Just to contribute to the list. For anyone keeping track haha. My FTP gives me no problems. I bought an Axiom second hand. Was aggravated that the USB kept shorting out. Bought a power adapter. Now I plug the midi cable to my FTP haha. Or use it in other midi situations, not necessarily requiring computer :D

The Fast-Track Pro soundcard had a Hardware fault that even M-Audio admitted to. It causes the audio to cut out altogether

Here's a forum post i wrote a number of years ago with 4 pages of people having the same drama and an M-Audio tech admitting to the fault:

I have Axiom 25 (2nd Gen) and my only issue with it has been that the current version of Ableton doesn't support the 2nd Gen model so the knobs cause weird jumpy CC msgs.

Works perfectly in Reason / Record. I can program the thing to control a single song or a whole set. Switching between global and instrument mode is a cinch. Response time between hitting the keys and hearing the notes is negligible.

I don't have any issue controlling 'most' VSTs with it either.

All in all I've been very satisfied with it. I feel it is a pro quality product. I can't speak to the rest of M-Audio stuff. I got the M-box way back when Pro-Tools first came out and it did what it was supposed to. I was too young at the time to know much about anything else. But it recorded like it said lols.

I hate my firewire 410 since the day i did buy it! The drivers was crapping everything up the first couple of years. I would never ever again buy something from that company!!!

I've had a handful of M-Audio products and never had any problems.

Cheap and cheerful.
