Actually, it's quite good fun. I might reinstall it.
the only bad plug-in I kept when I purged my plug-in folder. fun but useless.

beat repeat. it has a flavor to it that just won't go away. it can change things up but it always sounds like beat repeat.

resonator. like beat repeat it has a character to it that's always there.

Live's reverb. blech.

amp, blah.

Lounge Lizard was far better than Electric. same instrument but AAS put the time in on their presets' effects.

Analog's gui is annoying.

freaking love Operator though.

this one was amusing, then tedious:

Abletons vinyl distortion-what am i supposed to be doing with this? lol

Tbh I detest my virus control plugin. I know its a revolution for hardware/software crossover but in reality I find it an absolute chore to automate, constant stability issues and having to realtime bounce to add isolated effects (may just be because its a hardware hybrid).

I use it for regenerative ambient sets. it makes noise even when the transport isn't playing. send its signal to other audio effects and build a set that plays without ever hitting the Play bar.

vinyl distortion - gate - resonator - EQ

then send that to various other tracks and send those tracks to other tracks.

This is my Favourite VST of all time. I will defend it. It does not belong on this list of shit vsts.
Use the draft mode if you have a shit computer. :x

its has nothing to do with my computer. I'm using a dedicated audio PC with a quadcore sandybridge i7 & 12GB of ram. Don't get me wrong, its probably the best sounding synth I own, but the CPU load is just unbearable at times, and I'm certainly not the only ones whos experienced this..

And before you bought it, u-he told you it was a major cpu hog.

Use draft mode & freeze/flatten..... the quality of sound and ease of use is worth it imo.

Diva does not belong on this list

Oh, & if you think it is the worst vst you have ever purchased, sell it to this guy-

Tone Deft, along with Tareketh, I respect pretty much anything you have to say on here. I love the fact you have found a creative use out of the vinyl distortion.

Having said that, I can't believe you aren't a fan of Analogs GUI-what don't you like about it? I don't have it but I used it alot when I was demoing Live 8 and was thinking to pick it up when Ableton next do a sale.

Any embedded plug in qualifies for me as worst VST by default.
Not everyone uses only one DAW.
I have two decent convolution reverbs in DP and Logic respectively and cannot use them in Live without crippling Live with Rewire.
I would be ecstatic if DAWs all of a sudden tomorrow all developed a true universal plug in format and freed their plug ins up.

Also, any Windows VST plug in badly ported to OSX. You can always tell an AU/VST that will be problematic when the developer didn't even bother to change the close box to the left or the icon for it. Voxengo for example make a great mastering plug in with Elephant, but it's a piss poor OSX port at best. IMO it's probably farmed out to FXPansions wrapper technology etc. :?
