That I have a solution for. A bit of information about that in this thread.H20nly wrote: the one feature that kinda sucks about the iMac is that its a bitch to balance on my balcony outside so i can have a smoke while i post on the forum.

Re: iPhone5
I find Apple to not listen to their customers and just dictate to them how they should use their computer/phone instead. The obsession with everything being slick, light, thin & simple has gone a little too far. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple started going "Since online storage is all the rage, we won't stick hard drives in our computers" or something just as stupid, then justified by how their computers are that bit faster and we should be impressed.beats me wrote:Examples please. Re: iPhone5
I honestly don't know what the fuck you mean when you say that Apple doesn't listen to their customers.
Instead of me listing the ways in which Apple has, in fact, listened to their customers I'll simply ask you this:
Give me an example of any competitor that you think listens to their customers BETTER?

All of them? Surely comparing the product ranges of competitors to Apple's shows far more diversity to appeal to different types of customers.
Re: iPhone5
Meh. I’m perfectly fine with 95% of what Apple dictates to me. I have simple needs. And most of the 5% I don’t like is some new feature that Apple came up with that I think could be done better, but it’s not because a competitor is doing it better.
Although I do agree that Apple is a little too obsessed with the cloud, especially with idevices…not increasing drive sizes while file sizes of files and apps are increasing. But at the same time are there any competitors that do any better? The big buzz is that on some devices you can use an SD card…but if the built-in drive is 32G and you can also use a max 32G SD card that’s no different than a 64G idevice.

Tim responds about maps.
Now he needs to respond to the rampant reports of the iPhone 5 easily getting scratched to hell and in some cases scratched in the box.

To our customers,
At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.
We launched Maps initially with the first version of iOS. As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps. In order to do this, we had to create a new version of Maps from the ground up.
There are already more than 100 million iOS devices using the new Apple Maps, with more and more joining us every day. In just over a week, iOS users with the new Maps have already searched for nearly half a billion locations. The more our customers use our Maps the better it will get and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you.
While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app.
Everything we do at Apple is aimed at making our products the best in the world. We know that you expect that from us, and we will keep working non-stop until Maps lives up to the same incredibly high standard.
Tim Cook
Apple’s CEO

Read an article about the reporter trying to contact Android tech support. He got a response a month later and the email included “It was nice talking to you on the phone” when he hadn’t talked to anybody on the phone ever.

Isn’t Google already toying with all things in the cloud at all times with their chrome book?
But if Apple tried that and it failed this would be the one time haters wouldn’t say “Apple didn’t invent that”.

don't talk to me about chrome. chrome is nothing to me. i uninstall it on PCs that i repair.

Agreed 100% I'm not updating to iOS 6 until it's sorted, maps isn't a cutesy toy for me it's a must have application, period.H20nly wrote: regarding maps... Apple needs to suck that shit up. "make a shortcut to the website" pfft!
This kind of thing kinda blows me away, that they can fuck up beta testing what I consider a basic feature of the iPhone???

And I wouldn't think for a second that Tim isn't upset by this. It's a big black spot on Apple and his start at leading Apple without Jobs' input, especially when there's already plenty of people who predicted Apple would go down the shitter on the day Jobs died. While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze
