Romney Vs. Obama -----------the Debates

Post by starving student » Thu Oct 04, 2012 3:22 am

basically Romney mopped the floor with Obama.
my question is that he did that at the behest of the truth, and confessed that he didn't have to even give details.
he said the opposite of stuff he said just a couple of days ago, my question is will he be allowed to get away with it.
if this was a prize fight Romneys gloves would have been loaded……..will the people let him get away with it?
would they have let Obama get away with disregarding the facts and flip-flopping on issues even when he held a different position only hours before?

They're both closet communists.

Romney pummeled Obama with the focused intensity of 17 lbs. of helium balloons. :|

This is the problem with top level politics: it might as well have been an actual fight - gloves, belts, shorts and all. It's a fucking circus. The last four years of the current administration fighting the odds, a financial crisis largely inherited, the Afghanistan quagmire and the opposition majority blocking everything they possibly can - it's all working FOR Romney.

I'm not blindly defending Obama's administration - to me, either of the two alternatives can only be the lesser of two evils (and this happens to be the Democrats); it just feels so pointless when you know that people actually base their vote on four televised debates.

Perfectly stated. At the end of the day, neither one of these guys are the ones actually running anything.

Romney 2012 seems to equal impending war with Iran in 2013. That would be disastrous...

I actually thought - as far as these things go - that it was the finest Presidential Debate I've ever seen.

There was real substantive policy talk here. For the first time in memory the back and forth was actually allowed to go on several replies deep. That's almost unheard of in modern US debates - where a rebuttle is allowed, maybe 2, but then lets quickly move on to the next topic.

The soundbytes were mercifully kept to a minimum; unlike the last go around between Obama and McCain - where it was literally nothing BUT soundbytes in the debates. The irony of course is that Obama went after Romney for having no details for this plan or that, when 4 years ago he did the exact same thing. Back then it was nothing but platitudes and campaign slogans. This time around, both men had to dig a little deeper.

I also thank God that we were mercifully spared from both abortion and gay marraige discussions, voter registration, and immigration reform. Those are little more than red herring issues to the economy at this point.

so basically you liked that there was all of this back and forth but no fact checking, anybody could say anything even if they said the opposite 2 hours earlier…. (i won't say any names)…. those aren't red herrings for someone if there living through 16-18% unemployment compared to somebody acting like the sky is falling because of their 8% unemployment  ffs

Obamas in a tough spot, for the last 72hours fox has been running angry black man coverage on obama in over drive, something he has to worry about everyday, while any other person in american government with an additional white half is allowed to be angry and called patriotic for being so, combine this with the fact that his supporters (like myself) want him to get angry and dude simply can't win for losing.
He's the only president in history that was stopped at the door to the white house to let him know that there will be absolutely no one willing to work with him from across the isle to the point of voting down their own legislation if he wanted to work with them!!!! like I was saying, he's the only president in history to be up against that and then the other side has the nerve to call him out for not working enough with the other side.

I mean lets be for real, it doesn't get any more clearer than this Obama said I know you didn't vote for me but I want to help you too, cause I'm your president too, and Romney said fuck 47% of you (that's like half) and I've got nothin for ya ……………..but today he's getting accolades and will most likely be voted mr. america…………….I thought espousing such was deemed un-american by the patriotic but apparently not!!!!!!

WTF 8O ……………..that shit must be Mormon privilege I guess.

I don't know whether to cry or laugh and then cry at your reply. It's just more angry Obama supporter ranting, really.

You need to turn that frown upside down, starving Old Boy. Relax. Your saviour candidate is going to win.

Your contempt is showing again.

Sort of like Obama last night when he wouldn't even look Mitt in the eye.
