shoked by operator bundle

Post by peeddrroo » Fri Jul 15, 2005 9:20 am

just received the newsletter anoucing the public beta and saw this:

"One Week Special Offer: Operator plus Live 5 Upgrade!

Upgrade to Live 5 between Live 5 day of release and July 31st and get
Operator for the special price of EUR 89/USD 99. This offer is good for
ALL upgrades to Live 5, including upgrades from Live versions 1 through
4 and from all lite versions."

there was recently a thread about that, and most ppl agreed that it wouldn't be fair to release such a bundle for ppl who have bought operator early.

so i hope that ppl who already have bought operator will also get the discount when they upgrade to Live5. i even hope we will get a better deal, since operator is more expensive (129€) than the upgrade (119€).

so please abes, add the line "If you already own Operator, upgrade to Live 5 between Live 5 day of release and July 31st and get your upgrade for the special price of EUR 89/USD 99."

that would just be fair.

I just bought Operator 3 weeks ago too. A $40 usd drop is significant. That’s like $50 cdn. A discounted upgrade to Live 5 for Operator owners would be a nice treat.

Well, I won't beg for discounts. I accepted the price b.e.f.o.r.e purchase.

But I'm really upset that I haven't received the newsletter! Creating an anger-driven poll right now!! *menace*

I totally agree. Otherwise I feel like hanging back for a few months to await the discounting that appears to be part of Abe's new commercial strategy. No point in being a fool and buying early if Abe's are setting this new precedent.

Looks like it will definitely be better to take a wait-n-see approach with all Abe's new products. Might save myself 30% or more.

As someone who bought operator early on I would like to say that I do not have a problem with this bundle and don't feel some type of discount upgrade to version 5 is necessary.

The deal is only for a limited time right? If I had been on the fence and had held off on buying operator this package deal would look very enticing to me and would probably sway me to buy operator.

I think it is a good deal. As for me, I paid full price a while back because I wanted it. I don't feel like I missed out on anything.

peace

what's the big fuzz here?
you buy something, or not..
the Abe's do not have to offer a discount..
really, that's a stupid thing to ask, like I'am not gonna buy 5 now cause I want the discount deal when 6 is gonna be released..
The only fair thing here is that operator owners get the operator ugrade for free.
