You had no idea what your strengths and interests were by 9th grade?H20nly wrote:yeah i knew in 7th grade that database management and GUI customization was the way to go! that's why i pounded hard on my Commodore 64 in every spare moment...
after school i was like
LOAD "snack",8,1
LOAD "homework" ,8 ,1
LOAD "database of the future",8 ,1
LOAD "pre-internet",8 ,1
LOAD "dinner",8 ,1
LOAD "toothbrush",8 ,1
LOAD "sleep",8 ,1
and that was my day. i mean pfft! how could you not know what you would want to know for the rest of your life by age 12??
i've also never actually learned anything as an adult... i just copy it from google and paste it into my steno pad pocket notebook.
good thing i didn't learn about K-Pop!
Tell us how much of those classes you took in 4 years of high school help you out daily now. Wait no, tell me how much of those classes helped you out 6 months after you graduated high school.

i still have no idea my strengths and weaknesses NOW, lol
i would have preffered 4 years of waterboarding to HS, but college were some of the best years of my life, i use very little of my past learning, BUT it expands the Horizons, never know what is gonna stick

honestly, by 9th grade my interests were Contra, Super Mario Bros, my dogs - Skip and Nickles, Ratt, Motley Crue, Led Zeppelin.beats me wrote:You had no idea what your strengths and interests were by 9th grade?![]()

my step-dad was pretty harsh - any strengths i may have thought i had that weren't ripped apart for being one of the only white kids in class were often shattered by his way with words.
by the time i graduated high school my career of choice was trafficing. i tried to be a fire fighter but they won't let you do that in Texas until you're 21 and the Coast Guard wouldn't take me because i ran a stop sign in high school and failed to mention it when asked - even though, according to the MEPS test i qualified to be everything but a radar technician or a navigator.
naw dude... i didn't know.
i use typing everyday... using it now... i did take that in 9th grade. i also did pretty well in English and writing, both of which i'm using now. earlier today i used math and last night helping my son with his homework i used math. i also use math when i shop or balance my bank account or try to figure out how to squeeze as much furniture and such as possible into my apartment so my kid can stay in the school he's in.
i've found that knowing a little bit about a lot of things helps when it's time to dive in further. i've also found that being well rounded about more subjects means that you can comprehend more. this might not be an obvious thing, but it affects us all. if you grew up on a llama farm and never went to school, my guess is that your posts wouldn't be near as witty as they usually are. just sayin.

If Texas is so big, then wouldn't everything be smaller?
