The ableton is great thread

Post by vido » Sat Oct 27, 2012 1:35 pm

Well, I can't wait for ableton 9 but I'll have to. Didn't see a reason to make a post about it though. But I was asked to (in a post I answered), so I did.

I'm sure live 9 will be GREAT, some issues at first, then a totally stable version and then we'll have an ableton that is what we asked for. If not everything we asked for at least some of it. Better search, better sound, better plug-ins, workflow-improvement to name a few.

What makes ableton better?

1. WAY easier workflow!
2...

I'll continue the list:

1. WAY easier workflow!
2. Instrument-racks (grouping instruments, auditioning etc)
3. Session-view-improvising
4. Fast midi/key-mapping
5. Faster send
6. Drum-racks
7. Easier audio-editing
8....
9....

Ableton is just faster to work with in general in my opinion. Dual monitor-support would be great though.

It's pretty clear that LOTS of people love and use Live on a daily basis (like, say, Wolfgang Gartner and Sebastien Leger). There's just a collection of people that like to spend their time blaming software for their own shortcomings.

Push looks to be pretty much everything I've ever wanted in a software controller, so I'll add that to the list:

Voted 4 too! I wished for a couple of other things that don't seem to come out.

9. it's about time to mention 9-es upcoming audio-to-midi +++++ I am really looking forward to that.

I'm just getting started using Live....I just bought 8 Suite :D

All those years the look of Abletons session view didn't appeal to me but once they announced 9 with Push I had to see what I was missing. I'm very impressed so far. Live seems to be an environment where creative ideas will flow easier than the other DAW's I have. :D
