Price Changed in "Live 8 Upgrade + Free Live 9"?
Re: Price Changed in "Live 8 Upgrade + Free Live 9"?
OK I'll explain it simply because you seem to have trouble understanding.
It says 'log in to see your upgrade price' so we log in and it quotes a price. Next day it quotes 25% more.
Not the best way to make friends and influence people.

Totally agree. Ableton has their full rights to change prices and set in place procedures how to handle mistakes.littlepig wrote:OK I'll explain it simply because you seem to have trouble understanding.

The way they did this was PR- wise very bad. And they could still repair thus mistake instead of having all the negative discussions about their pricing mistakes/hiking.

They should have just kept the price if people had already put it in their cart. I had the upgrade in my cart for $190 and was going to buy it the next day but I can't justify buying it right now since the price went up $100.

No it was not a one-day sale. Actually you don't even know how long the current pricing with 25% is around, it could go away tomorrow or the next week with new pricing. It's a hit-and-miss when you go shopping at the Ableton web site just now. Not to speak of not even future upgrade pricing from Live 8 to Live 9.H20nly wrote:what if it was a one day sale and you missed it?

If want more sanity, follow the NI Komplete upgrades. Or U-He's upgrade policies. Calms your mind.fishmonkey wrote:wow, life is so unpredictable. i don't know how i go on.

Fabrice, what question did you ask support and what was their reply?fabrice segura wrote:I received the confirmation.
I upgraded to suite 8 while the price was still cheap. There is nothing on the invoice, or on my activated products page that confirms the free suite 9 upgrade. I don't want to ask them the same question you did, as I'm sure they are already inundated!

Re: Price Changed in "Live 8 Upgrade + Free Live 9"?
I'm very frustrated about the new price. May users have bought it for 179€ but now I must pay 254€. I have all the weekend the product in my cart and yesterday when I made my login : price change.
Today I have contacted the support and they said if your product is in your cart in our system you can get the price but by mischance they said : Oh no we have no product in the product !
Sry but I'm very unhappy about your new prices and how you treat already users of Live 8.
If they don't change it , many people don't upgrade

Yes. The problem, as I see it, is that we are mostly dealing with SW companies that announce and implement prices that are fixed (NI, U-HE et rest.) When a certain company is stumbling around with pricing with price changes every day, few expect that to happen so they are late to the game.H20nly wrote:so it's like this thing is on sale... you don't know how long for... and if you hesitate you might miss the sale??kent_sandvik wrote:No it was not a one-day sale. That I would not mind, you learn to live with such blunders. But the way a certain company handled the aftermath was even more miserable.

why do you keep using NI as an example? they have a crazy sale on like every other week.

Re: Price Changed in "Live 8 Upgrade + Free Live 9"?
I've upgraded Komplete for about four years. About same price. Actually they are a little bit late just now. I really like dealing with NI. Good service, fast support, reasonable upgrade policies. As for Ableton, it's the opposite. It's pretty much a pain to be an Ableton customer and I'm really debating just now if it's worth maintaining such a painful relationship.fishmonkey wrote:reality check. reality check.kent_sandvik wrote: Yes.
