... is there a public Beta Testing of v9 planned?
hey guys,
well i dont know there were no information about, but is there a public beta testing for v9 planned?
i mean its just 4-5 months to go until official release or im wrong?
(Q1 2013 official relase date planed - and i dont think the release is on the 31.March 2013 - because the last day in the Q1)
hope someone can tell me ...
so far liking the last 8.4 x32 Beta 8 - great fast opening of VST plugin even on my old notebook. so far no bugs or crashes.
Cheers,
Lumix

Q1 could be the first day of January 2013
We just have to wait.
Re: ... is there a public Beta Testing of v9 planned?
why not? or do you have the beta already? because its important for me - because i was on the way to Fabfilter Q for example(got 50% discount on it) - but then came ableton with v9.beats me wrote:I hope not.
so i would really like to try myself and see if ableton v9 is more stable and if the new features are so strong as they look in the preview.
(stability has more priority imo.)
hmm but cracker could take a look at teh protection - thats a risk i think for ableton.
i hope some of the staff members is replying to it.

Beta testing happens because it’s probably not stable yet, but 90% of the people who get in on it when it’s public see it as a free ride, don’t beta test/report issues properly, and then bitch when they lose serious projects they probably shouldn’t have used it for in the first place.
Re: ... is there a public Beta Testing of v9 planned?
im testing since b1 for 8.4 and ive seen no bugs or crashes at all - but when i have some i report them proper and try to help. the same i do for other beta tests i participate.beats me wrote:Beta testing happens because it’s probably not stable yet, but 90% of the people who get in on it when it’s public see it as a free ride, don’t beta test/report issues properly, and then bitch when they lose serious projects they probably shouldn’t have used it for in the first place.
but you are fully right most of the people do it like and this will help nobody really.
but its still better to have a public beta test, because more people can find more bugs and make the program stable.

Then Ableton should implement something like you only have access to posting in the beta forum if you’re a beta tester during the beta testing period. Give and take. Which is more important, rambling endlessly about general production and/or nonsense or participating in beta testing? Each user can decide.
