live5: copy recorded audio-clip to new folder by alt-drag

Post by esaruoho » Tue Jul 05, 2005 9:36 pm

please make it possible for one to alt-drag an audio-clip, to a folder, in order to make a new, physical, WAV copy of the clip.

surely since you can nowadays drag a clip to the browser and get a ableton-live-preset or wotever, that if you pressed alt-down whilst dragging, it would make a physical copy of the wavefile to the new folder.

this is something i've been missing too. having got live just recently i haven't gone thru all the functions yet but i haven't yet found an easy way to, for example, save a recorded audio file as a wav/aiff to a folder of choice without having to do render/bounce which is an useless phase in this case. the alt-dragging would make organizing and processing samples a lot easier for me.

ps. hi esa!

Good suggestion!

Anyway, in the meantime you can still freeze the track, drag the freezed track in a new location in the browser and rename it...

I will be happy with a simple "save clip as" in the contextual menu of a clip
