Live 9 Beta Testers - What new features are you seeing?
Re: Live 9 Beta Testers - What new features are you seeing?
Unless someone from Ableton objects, I'll post a review of the current beta version of Live 9 to my blog in the next day or two. Still trying to find out if I'm allowed to do that or not, with it only being round one of the public beta still.

Hi Tarekith,Tarekith wrote:Performance and render times are slightly better, at least with the 64 bit versions here. Posted my results in the performance test thread.
Is Live 9 utilizing all cores of CPU on render now equally? I think in Live 8 it just renders with most of the CPU coming from one core making for a hellishly slow time on complex projects.

Will I be able to use my 32-bit plugs in the 64-bit version?

the only thing that matter to me is performance..
are there any improvements ? how does the new clip recording work ?
is it "snappier" ? seemed to be in the demonstration vid.

Apart form that of the new main features audio to midi works quite well with no so complex material, i tried some classical music on it and it had a hard time.
That dont Sounds too promissing. What do you mean by Hard Time?

When there are two instrument making different melodies it tends to mix them, specially if it's timbre is similar.gisela-idol wrote:[quote=".

Yes, let's go pass the eye candy and focus on performance- how is it running? Can we actually load a bunch of 3rd party plugs and run it without problems? If u do run into glitches post ur machine specs and at what point it happened.
And how are the shortcuts, did we get more options? Can we take advantage of multitouch trackpads for zooming/navigating? Can we rewind/fastforward?
U guys got ur for thru the door now give us a shout outta window, will ya?

Re: Live 9 Beta Testers - What new features are you seeing?
Regarding all those huge feature wishlists I read here I guess that they just considered one percent of all requests.
What about those small but important things like more and user defined short cuts, more colours, improved chain mixers, hide tracks, scroll wheel zoom, group track freezing etc etc.
All those 'small' improvements would be much more important for me (work flow wise) than "audio to midi" or another gate/EQ/compressor (which I already have enough of).

Re: Live 9 Beta Testers - What new features are you seeing?
Not an open beta, Closed public beta.
There was a sign up form somewhere. They are letting people in a very few at a time to try and prevent duplication of questions and reports. The numbers of participants increase slowly.
Step one discover the sign up page.
Step two - wait.
It's only "public" in the sense that non-ableton people are involved.
