+1 to Spine of God! Saw Masters of Reality open up for them during their Dopes to Infinity tour, and they toured with White Zombie before that:) I've got the Bavarian Death Trolls and Evil 7"s lying around somewhere....

Loved the first Rage album but after that it started sounding redundant and didn't have the tight production so I was kinda meh...

Had the Rentals on tape which I loved, the mix of distorted bass and synth...was disappointed it didn't seem to get noticed.

I'm gonna put one in for Urban Dance Squad - Mental Floss for the Globe

^ no, their second album was Blowout Comb and IMHO was better... the quality of the recording is lo-fi at best. you can't pull a track off that album and expect it to sound good after playing a new song, but of course the loudness wars hadn't really got going in 94.

if you liked Reachin..., i highly recommend you pay the 8.99 or whatever it costs to download Blowout Comb ASAP.

better yet... buy the physical CD. it's awesome! the disc is purple and covered in fro picks and other utensils used for wrangling nappy locks. :P

Apples & oranges imo. Reachin' is more innocent go lucky (except La Femme), Blowout more political mature. Both classics imo. Saw them at the college auditorium too 8) for Blowout. They had a backup band, with horns, so they did renditions proper. And didn't King Britt produce/dj Reachin'? In between Reachin' & Blowout he was supposed to be dj'ing in the blue room at a rave in BFE KY, but I never saw him (that's why I went). Reachin' has a special place in my heart since I was in high school and started smokin & havin a serious girlfriend when I was all up in that album, but Blowout is just as tight and super blaze friendly.

But dude - "Phat Planet"!
I know those guys and I have to agree that Leftism was the beginning and the end of their pop career.

Spent the next x years navel gazing and honing their production sound without many good ideas.
