Anyone used the iMPC ? What's the 'pad' response & sound quality like ?

Is the iMPC case out now? I didn't think it was out yet....

I think Cubasis looks pretty interesting if you're already a Cubase user, not sure I'd want to pay that much for a standalone app though when so many other apps work in a similar way.

Cubasis seems a little glitchy to me. Hopefully they'll sort that out in a quick update. Editing notes in the piano roll is a little cumbersome compared to Beatmaker and Nanostudio; although, I love the location of the piano roll. I like the layout and workflow pretty well too. The pad response is not very good compared to Nanostudio; the pads don't respond well to rapid triggers in succession.

All in all, it's pretty good, but they need to make the note editing easier, add Audiobus support, fix the pad response, and cleanup some bugs before it's worth the $50.

Can anyone comment on this:

The other day I was messin' around with devices at Best Buy and turned on some version of an MPC. I had a reallllly difficult time navigating the interface and felt retarded. I think I even had trouble replacing individual sounds on pads.

Is the iMPC interface the same as a hardware version, thus allowing me to learn how to use an MPC more properly? I don't want to be a noob next time I play with an MPC.

Sounds interesting. Hooked up to an external hardware keyboard might be all you need. I find screen based keyboards annoying and limiting.

The pads feel a little on the stiff side... not alot of give compared to what I'm used to.

Honestly though, sound quality is amazing, and the interface is way more straightforward and easier to work with than most iOs adaptations of other music software/hardware.

Does it have 'pseudo' velocity sensitivity (like the iPad Garage Band drums do?) and if so, how well does it work?

I haven’t used Cubase in ages and my closest comparison would be Logic. You can make a lot of great music with Logic without having to use any third party plugs. If this is close to that then I think $50 is quite reasonable.
