Send/Recieve problems...

Post by Cowpar2 » Sat Jan 05, 2013 10:20 pm

Ok, I had this problem for a while now, and I just can't figure it out.
What I want to do is to send the audio of a track to a receive track, but completely silence the original track, thus only the receive track is rendered. (I'm pretty sure the benefits are obvious)
If you know how to do this, or know a video or thread where this is discussed, post it below please!
Thank you!

Just change the "Audio To" selection:

another two ways:

1. set the rtrn track in Pre mode and set the audio/midi track vol to -inf. Be carefull though, as the Pre mode means that the signal sent to the rtrn track is only dependent on a send knob value

2. render the particular rtrn track (check the render settings window > Data section > Rendered track list)

Thank you both, all of what you said did it!
Special thanks to vitalispopoff for the picture (pictures are worth a thousand words!)
I think I prefer checking "pre" in my receive track then adjusting track volume though (it makes it more controllable).
But either way, thank you!

You mean 80 ;D

Each of the solutions have its own limitations. "sends only" is especially great when You don't want to accidentally send the dry signal to the master track.

Also when the sound to feed the sidechain fxes is needed, it's great to set this routing option along with send knobs disabled. You'll get a perfect mute track.
