Re: GEAR INFO/thoughts - MIDI CONTRLS , omnitronic, icon, maudio

M audio also has an Axiom controller that is small.

I kind if struggle with all of this myself. I've acquired a few controllers but many just don't feel exciting.

A trend to possibly consider depending on if you have an iPhone/iPad, is anything that plugs into those. This area is pretty bland at the moment though.

My best unit for portability so far is without a doubt my Launchpad. It is always my go to and it always feels right to use it anywhere. (Although I do admit that I use my iPhone just as much, just, on its own, not with Live)

On the topic of keys and portability, stay clear of the Korg microKey. At least the 37 key one. Great little keyboard. But it is pretty big, despite its smallness haha.

I'm not huge on my Akai Synthstation 25 either. But I have heard kinda good things about some of their small products.

Good luck finding what you're looking for! We have similar setups haha (remote sl mk2, Maschine, Launchpad, uc33e)

Don't forget the FAD9 only has 1 button per track vs. the Nanokontrol which has 3 which means with the latter it's a whole lot easier to turn on/off Mute, Solo etc.

What is the "mini kontrol" ?

Also, what about the Novation Zero SL II ? I think the Faders and knobs respectively fit exactly the dimensions of the launchpad which means you could place the Zero SL neatly under the LP and have each track nicely with the corresponding controls in sight.
