Loud pops from speakers randomly. Grounding issue?

to me it sounds more like there's a problem with the internal sound card.

If it is, could I ever hope to get it fixed? I mean, it's not like you can just walk into a store and say "can you hear that? CAN YOU HEAR THAT?", because it might pop every 30 minutes, or it might never pop during the whole day. I

I've already tried to RMA a sound card, and it took hella lot of convincing to prove that I wasn't just insane (we plugged it into an external mixing board, turned sound up maximum, and the two channels played ~1 dB differently, and he was like "do you even know how extreme this scenario is?").
