Tips for adding energy?

Post by vanngogh » Thu Jan 17, 2013 5:09 pm

I'm so close to finishing this song, but I need to add energy after the little buildup towards the end... I would really appreciate any ideas as to how to go about this.

I want to keep the bass and guitar sample focused, without adding a bunch of just random noises... More with less I suppose?

Anyways, here's the link, and I appreciate your feedback/thoughts!!!

maybe make the guitar line more call and responsey. currently its got this swinging riff and then around 4 mins it fills in the space by doubling up, then empties out a bit to have this call/response between guitar line and 'horn' stab. if you wanted to heat it up, you could have the guitar line fill in some more of the space with a different riff... maybe no more than the current tune transposed up 5 notes - but you could probably do something way better than that.
