I would really like to know from someone at ableton if it's even possible
you can be sure it is possible.
and it's quite easy to put into practice.

they don't need to program a new instrument, nor an extra algo.
it's just a simple funktion.

don't worry 'bout the board-spamers.
really, i've been surfing alot of forums the past ten years.
but i've never experienced so much non-qualified and decunstructiv postings.
so much dirty words.

i'm sorry for those who are serious.
it's a shame !

if i could decide, i would prefer that ableton first cleans up this board befor doing any other enhancements. that would help more than any other thing.
... or they should open a password protected area for serious users, producers and professionals.

also, just saying that this thread sucks is infantile and pathetic.
It is actually ableton that sucks in this case. Aswell as the noob beat chopping brigade.
Perhaps they all dont even have a photek album in their collection, which would prove my point.
No Science here i see.

I'm hearing you man, i don't know why there are folk that try to put u down by calling u a troll??? wtf!! This is a much needed function! I came across this thread for i wanted to figure out simply how to play from any spot in session view and have all of the other clips play from the same position. I tried what you were talking about and i can see straight away there is a need for this. I've started a thread in the ableton 9 beta forum on an idea that i think would benefit your needs as well http://beta.ableton.com/abl01/topics/pl ... its-1kmitn

Yeah i understand, i'm not really into eating mould! Did you decide to just use recycle or have you found a better way to listen from warp markers?

this is what i wrote in the other thread
I think it would be great if you could click in the selection area of a clip in session view and play from that spot every time. Also making sure that all the clips played from the same spot. If you use scrub, it plays that clip from that spot but all of the other clips from the start. What is the good of that yellow cursor if you can't play from there. This way it would speed up the workflow when editing midi notes / automation and listening to warp points, just click and play then edit and whenever you hit spacebar it plays from the relevant spot. I don't want to hit spacebar and wait 10 seconds just to hear if what i just edited works. Maybe have a button to engage to turn this function on and off?

The very clever garyboozy told me about how to actually do this in ableton, after years of ignorance, and nothing in the manual about it....

In arrange view only, you can audition between markers. It is clunky and un economical compared to recycle. And you would not want to do this intensively.

You must put focus on the clip in arrange view....

Instructions are in my sig.

i didn't try it the way dna598 suggested, so far ...

i use Slicex. it's a the better alternative of recycle.

I wonder if the trolling, idiotic fanboys in disagreement here have come to understand this request after only 4 years.

I was just re reading the thread. The absolute cheek of the trolls here is incredible.
Accusing me of 'making up a problem where there isn't one'.

wow! How incredibly stupid!

It's quite clear they haven't the foggiest idea what you or I are talking about. Even after detailed discussion.

Problem is, even if they admit it now, they ll look even sillier.
