A nice way to combine voice tracks on an instrument

I have an instrument which is played by 3 different voice tracks. Each of these voices are midi tracks with their clips and all outputs go to the midi input of the instrument track. The instrument track is set to "in" in order to pass the midi from the 3 voice tracks.

Now I have some audio effects after this instrument, and some effect sends. I would like to control their parameters from clip envelopes, but I don't see a nice way to tackle this. Problem:

- I can't put the envelopes clip in the instrument track, because it won't play back since the instrument is set to "in". So I can't use clips and pass midi from the voice tracks at the same time.
- I can't put the envelopes in the voice tracks because they won't display the parameters of the instrument track.

The only solution I could think of is:
- Create another track, but audio this time.
- Route the output from the instrument track to the audio track and put all fx in the audio track
- Use dummy clips on the audio track to automate the parameters.

This would work I guess, but I will have to create 5 tracks in total for a 3 voice setup. I'm just wondering if there is a better solution I didn't think of...

why u cant use envelopes on the instrument rack? i made this for preparing handdrawn lfo effects on my pre master channel. and this one is on "in", too.

Ah you're right! I though that in blocked everything in the clips on that track but it doesn't. You can still use clip envelopes while passing midi input.
