Help me choose a VST synth
Re: Help me choose a VST synth
I quite like Madrona Labs Aalto, it has a lot of depth and versatility with quite a unique interface.

+1 for Zebra2.
If you're on a budget, consider Sonic Academy's ANA. It's got some good bread and butter sounds for edm production.
For bass sounds, Spectrasonic's Trilian is my favorite right now.

I recommend none. Learn to use the ones you have. Save your money. People treat tax returns like it is a reward. It was your money to begin with except you got no interest out of your loan to the government.

This. You have a LOT to work with atm, OP. What do you feel you're lacking, really?kitekrazy wrote:I recommend none. Learn to use the ones you have. Save your money. I don't 'produce.' I write music.

Re: Help me choose a VST synth
I am going to argue against Diva which I know is odd because it is my favorite synth in my collection. Unless Upright is looking for a cpu demanding synth there are other cool VAs out there. Besides he also owns Reason which imo covers a lot of the same ground with Thor. Not saying Diva is better than Thor I don't think either one is better than the other but I think Thor does cover a lot of ground.

No one could tell the name of the synth if test blindly. Pick what you think useful.

Thanks for all of the input guys...including KiteKrazy's recommendation to not get anything
I needed up going with The Arturia V Collection and Madrona Labs Aalto. I really felt like the only thing I was missing was some good old straight forward Modular synthesis..with ARP 2600, Moog Modular, and Aalto I feel like I'm good to go. I'll take the advice on learning what I have at this point....I won't be buying anything else for a good while to come.
Thanks again guys.

Good luck getting it registered I hear their registration process is a mess. The Wurlitzer V is really nice though. So is Spark.Upright wrote:Thanks for all of the input guys...including KiteKrazy's recommendation to not get anything

Got it all done with absolutely no problems. It was a breeze,...perhaps their system has changed recently.
