if the music is poppin,, no one cares. there seems to be more controllerists with neat toys than people actually writing something people want to listen to.
but to answer your question,, an apc40 is cool, and a better deal than the livid (its just too pricey for what it does). but. launchpad/ korg nano kontrol, is super easy to carry around. If you are going to be doing gigs, portability and space seem to be major issues often overlooked. I've played spaces where there isn't alot of room for anything but the provided serato shit. you can hold the launchpad in your hands. if you have to. (or set it on its side)>
