Troubles getting Live 5 serial

I bought Live 4 after June 1, so I got an email this morning saying my Live 5 serial number was available at www.ableton.com/upgrade

So I went there feeling quite good!

But after entering my Live 4 serial on there, it asked me what pack I'd like to upgrade to, and all my credit card details etc... which I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to see...

Abletonians - how do I claim my Live 5 serial without entering credit card details etc? I think the problem is that I registered my Live 4 serial but I never installed & unlocked Live 4, because by the time I bought it it was already in full public beta...

I have just unlocked Live 4 in the last half hour or so but the upgrade page is still asking me to enter credit card details & stuff... Any help would be very much appreciated!

Got my email too, and it gave me my serial for Live 5 as expected (without credit card details)...but I had unlocked Live 4...

I had exactly the same problem. I sent an email to the address provided to report problems ([email protected]), but I haven't heard anything yet.

Yeah I've emailed the orders address as well... Sucks being in Australia, the time difference is killing me!

[edited] I'll take that back. There was a serial number waiting for me at /upgrade. Whee! Thanks Ableton!

I found out what the problem was. With the original CD that I got with Live 4, there was a card that had a serial number on it. So, I used that serial number when trying to download Live 5. But I didn't realize that after I had originally unlocked the version on the CD, I downloaded a more recent Live 4 update and when I did that Ableton gave me a completely new serial number. I found this new serial number in Live 4 in the Live menu, under "about". When I used that serial number on the www.ableton.com/update page, I was given a new Live 5 serial number and downloaded the update no problem.

Please have a look at ableton's main page.

And the main page doesn't have the link any more... repeat ad nauseum...

If you use a Live 4 serial number that was unlocked after July 1st (I think that was it), it will by-pass the paid upgrades and take you to a page that will give you a new serial number and let you download Live 5. That's how it worked for me, once I used the correct serial number.

Thats super sweet! Once I get my Live 4 box in the mail I will try it out, but only after I talk with Dom or sombody with sales.

Ah. Thats what I tried but it didnt work - registered and unlocked with my serial then went to the upgrade page and it only offers me the paid upgrades???!!

I guess I'll have to email or ring Ableton on Monday to sort it out then.

Yeh that's what's happening to me too pev... i'm 99% sure it was because I tried the upgrade page before I had unlocked live 4 with my serial...

never thought i'd say this but can't it be monday already? !!!!!!!
