IMHo the good part is that it introduces some principles to go against the loudness wars, but then again I don't like apple formats and reconverting to mp3 would be pointless.

In either case the vast majority of people is listening music in crap headphones, car stereos and small home speakers/computer speakers, Even the old home all in one stereo has been replaced. So the standard are very very low.

It's just a handfull of people that still enjoys and requieres listening music in a proper system.

AAC is NOT an Apple standard, or an Apple specific format like a lot of people think. They just adopted the standard along with many other organizations, like the ISO.

Which? I haven't seen one yet in the last 5 years that won't play AACs.
