Finding and Auditioning Drum Sounds

Post by andrew.scandal » Tue Feb 19, 2013 11:37 pm

When auditioning sounds for the drum rack, I am trying to find an easy and intuitive way to find and audition sounds.
Let's say I want to find a bass drum sound. If I search for bass drum sounds, it seems to me they are located in many different places rather than a central location. For instance, if I go to the library, I can find bass drum sounds in samples--waveforms--drums--kick. But then, most of the kick drum sounds are separated by folder, which does not make it very convenient to audition sounds. I don't have 3rd party sample packs, and don't really want any. I figured with Live Suite, I would be provided with enough sounds to last me a while. I'm not that picky or serious about it.
Also if I look under instruments--drum rack--kick, there are many drum "instruments" but I can't audition these.
My questions are:
Is there an easier way to find sounds?
Is there a shortcut to audition the sounds? Do I have to click the headphone button every time?
Is there anyway to audition the "instruments"
Thanks!
