latency/delay/MXL 990/ PV6 usb

hi.. im having latency problems. when i try to record it delays. not really really bad. but bad enough to make me really upset and cant record my vocal right. it picks up 1 second later than me. and i want to hear my voice right on point so i wouldnt mess up. which is really hard when it is responding late. i checked my preference. i messed around with the latency to see if i can fix it. i think its working but cant get it right on point. as of right now under latency i have:
input buffer size: 2352
input latency: 53.3ms
output buffer size: 3216
output latency: 72.9ms
my ups usage is 50percent... can someone please please help me. i love singing and rapping but i need this to be right. do i have to lower or higher the buffer sizes? if so which one? please help me. thank you.

Get an external soundcard, don't use the onboard one.
