few other minor suggestions, for what they're worth..
-Provide horizontal grid lines in the velocity draw section. Optional? It would be especially handy when drawing in velocity AFTER joining clips if you didn't get your velocities just right the first time around.
-scale selected velocity "sticks"... so if I select the velocity triggers, (sticks:) for lets say 12 notes I would like to be able to scale them all together along the Y axis in relation to their original value.
Newish full suite upgrade customer here, Thanks if anyone is still reading (with the Live 9 release date set to march 5th!!)

I liked your ideas about improved velocity editing.
I'd also like to see the attached suggestion in Live 10.
There are two things here:
1. Tooltip-kind-of visual cue for the precise level.
2. Guidelines, to clearly view difference from the previous/next notes.
