OK in Live 5, get a long sample (mine has a couple of markers in it but I don't think that matters). Zoom in to say 1/64. Copy a section out of the middle of the sample of say two grid widths.
Paste it in the existing clip somewhere on the same track. Lengthen it a couple of grid divisions then try and get it to snap to different grid sizes. For some reason it goes pear shaped it won't go under a particular length and sometimes quantizes out some grid divisions.
Weird.
