I'm getting pretty familiar with everything. I spend hours reading the manual and looking at tutorials. I just have a couple questions I might post to this forum. here's one
I made two 4-bar clips in the same scene in session view, one a bassline, and the other: kind of an arpeggiated lead. When I launch the lead clip I want it to play straight through as normal from the beginning. But for the bass part, I want it to play starting later in the measure (about beat 3). it's like a pickup if youre familiar with theory. when i launch the clip i want it to start from right there and then just continue looping. I'm sure this is probably simple, and I'm just too lazy to figure it out myself. if anyone could help thatd be great.
Thank you.

Re: pretty new to ableton. Basic question.
Try this:
Double the length of the clip.
Loop the second half, have it trigger from the beginning of the first half.
Erase some notes from the first half.
OR
Do the same thing with Looping the second half, but delete ALL the notes from the first half.
Set the first half's start point differently so that it plays nothing for a moment, before starting the looped part.

Ah ok, if you want to replace the two first beats by silence, then follow yur2die4's advice !
