^ all jokes aside. i bet it will do well. i was 8O away with what it does to my beat boxing. really surprising how good it would translate out in the beta.

I'm going to make music with it. Probably not great music, seeing as it's me doing it, but making music would seem to be a good thing to do with it.
I've been doing that with the beta version for a while without any crashes, pdc problems or the need for a second monitor. I've also had no problems with finding what I need in the browser. The above probably stems from the fact that I am a simple person with simple needs... but I'm happy :D

“... it was just to make an average listener go: ‘What the fuck is this?’ That’s a real inspiration for me and something that I will explore more on upcoming recordings.”

I'll get all my prefs sorted and then begin by opening current projects (and a few archived) to see that all plays the same. Then I will probably organise my Places and experiment with the new browsing/search system...and only then I'll open up a New project and play around with the new features/kits/sounds/fx!

Tomorrow morning I'll trash the beta version and all it's pref's, basically all traces of Live 8 and the 9 beta on my computer right now. Then a fresh install of Live 9, along with the packs I decide are worth the precious space on my SSD. I'm a minimalist, so I'm not worried about this part :)

Then I have the rest of the day free to myself to keep working on the album I've been creating in the Live 9 beta. Drawing automation curves is a little jittery, but other than that everything has been rock solid and working fine. Oh, and this is a whole album done in one project, so it's huge.

I guess in other words, work as normal :)

I'm going to do the same thing I did when Live 8 came out. Wait until certain things are fixed and everyone's happy then upgrade.
Hopefully when the next sale on upgrades happens in conjunction with Bitwig being released.

I made out so well waiting for 8 to stabilize that I'm not about to jump on 9 in the early stages, especially for a less than 25% discount.
Love Ableton, but I'm still enjoying DP8 and have no pressing need to upgrade.

Lately I've been more into longer pieces, whole albums or longer live performances. Taking the idea of structuring and aranging a song to a much larger scale, that sort of thing. So I wanted to create a longer piece where everything flows into each other and the songs are more like movements of a larger piece.

And I've been spending a lot of time in Studio One lately too, and felt I hadn't given the Live 9 beta much of a test. Seemed doing a whole at once would be a good stress test for my needs. :)

I don't get those complaints.

You get a useful, brand new effect, an update to all the important existing effects, many workflow and interface refinements and features and goddamn automatic conversion of any audio file you can imagine from goddamn audio to goddamn MIDI. Hell, if you get Suite it comes with M4L for free and more effects than you can imagine with a selection of the best, professionally tweaked ones included for good measure.

What did you expect? Do you want Live to do your tax return?
