Live 9 Suite Pricing

Post by adamg » Wed Mar 06, 2013 1:44 pm

The release of 9 is very exciting. I want to upgrade as soon as possible.

It is pretty uncool, however, that the $100 discount goes away on March 12.

I own 8 Suite and MaxforLive. I think the price I am being offered now should just be the price in perpetuity. We are basically being told, Come up with the money in a week or the price goes up $100. I think the current price is fair. I have been with Live since v. 4 and not only did I upgrade to Suite in v. 8 but I bought MaxforLive also. I have gladly handed a lot of money over to Ableton because I love the product. If I had the money, I'd buy right now and take advantage of this pricing but I don't and it will take more than a week to pull it together.

It does not feel like Ableton appreciates customer loyalty. They are capitalizing on the inevitable feeding frenzy that comes with a new release. They must figure that people will just pull out the credit card and worry about paying it off later. I buy responsibly by only spending money I have and I am being penalized for it.

I just bought the Standard Edition Upgrade offer last weekend and be done with it.

Rather spend my Money on the Push Controller, if it ever comes out... otherwise I just check out one of the competitors.

let me get this straight. you are upset because they offer it at a discount in the first week?

Hey, at least it's been like four years since there was an update. remember when they got us every year?

Upset might be a little strong. Annoyed is more like it. I'll wind up coming up with the money later only it's going mean waiting several months. Yeah, everybody does an initial discount. I just think the discounted price is what the price should be for owners of Suite and MaxforLive. And if the price has to go up, how about giving us a month instead of a week?
