Automation problems

Post by xerxes-music » Fri Mar 08, 2013 7:46 am

I havent been able to figure this one out.. If I have a clip and want to automate between the edges of that clip, I could just highlight a section and drag down/up on the automation line. This would make four automation points so I could easily continue to edit. It seems now this is not working, and it drags the ENTIRE line with just making one point.

Am I missing something here? Looked everywhere for answers, but my eyes are probably playing tricks on me. Thanks!

Cheers :)

Ye I was also a bit frustrated with this at first and at the same time I found it hard to belive that they had removed the feature.
So I tried a couple of buttons and sure enough, if you higlight an area and hold down shift while draging it up or down it'll work like in Live 8.

Thank you EVER so much! I wonder.. is there a way to change this back to the old behavior via some script or setting - so that the SHIFT key is not needed for this operation?

You're welcome=P. Unfortunately I know little to nothing about rescripting. And from what I can see in the "preferences" section of Ableton there dosen't seem to be any apparent way of rebinding commands.
I can't imagine that there wouldn't be a sollution to this however, probably in this very forum even.

So best of luck if you decide to try solve it and feel free to share what you find seeing as there's probably
many other's (me included) that would love to go back to how it was in Live 8 :D
