One knob to controll two send knobs.

Hi there,

Situation: multiple audio/miditracks and 2 return tracks, one with a 100% wet verb and one with nothing on it
I want to be able to switch between the sends with one knob. So if I turn up sendA to the verb return, the sendB knob should go down.

What I have now is a midifx rack with two maxLFO's on it with 0 depth. This works but there is a 'dead' point in the middle where the volume drops about 12dB. Does anybody know a solution?

Couldn't you just set the two sends to the same midi dial, and in the midi mappings (make sure browser is folded out) set one to -inf - 0db and the other 0db to -inf?

Yes, the control situation is fixed. But now I have the problem that when both knobs are at 50% there is a 12dB volume drop.

I think it's to do with having a constant power rather than constant amplitude curve on the sends, or something. Like a panning rule but for send tracks.

There's a M4L device called mapulator that should let you adjust how the send levels will respond to the LFO so hopefully you can use this to tweak the curves so the drop doesn't occur.

I used to toggle between Clean and effected Returns like this, but I started using the invert phase trick instead.
It might not be exactly what your looking for but,
Dont use 'Sends Only'
On Return Tracks have an FX rack with 2 chains.
Chain 1 has the Effect, like a Space Echo or Reverb
Chain 2 has an 'invert phase' Utility preset.
Both chains are active.

This way when you send to the return the drop out at 50% is not even close to what you were doing.
And you eliminate the need for a clean Return Track.

I do this for all of my Return Effects.
Delays
Verbs
even Mash Up effects like the Finger, or Stutter Edit.

I don't really get what you mean.

If you don't use 'Sends Only' the dry signal will always come through right?..
Could you please elaborate?

Using the "InvertPhase" preset for Utility device cancels the dry signal the more you turn it up, killing the dry signal, leaving only the effected sound.
Just try it.

Ohhhh, like that! Yeah, I'm familiar with phase but this changes the sound for all the tracks that are send to the return track. I want to be able to change it per track. Great idea though! I would never thought about that.
