Uad and ableton problem

Hi

I just discovered some strangeness going on, using a uad card with ableton 5.0.1

When i load the pultec plug in ableton, the cpu meter in ableton rises with 14%.
Uad is a dsp card,meant to ease the processing power from your cpu.

How the hell can this happen?
